It’s memorial day, the day we remember the people who died while serving in the country’s armed forces. As we remember this day, let us also pray for those currently serving that though they have decided to serve their country and may even die serving, that they will be saved. That they will not serve in the natural and lose their soul eternally but they will serve under the authority of Christ Jesus. May they not die in vain in the name of Jesus!
“The holiday, which is observed every year on the last Monday of May, originated as Decoration Day after the American Civil War in 1868, when the Grand Army of the Republic, an organization of Union veterans founded in Decatur, Illinois, established it as a time for the nation to decorate the graves of the Union war dead with flowers. By the 20th century, competing Union and Confederate holiday traditions, celebrated on different days, had merged, and Memorial Day eventually extended to honor all Americans who died while in the military service.“ Wikipedia
Let us Pray
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray for those who are serving in the armed forces and have given their lives for the cause. We pray that you will visit them on this day and turn them to you. We pray that this occasion shall serve as a day that brings glory to God, where the hosts of heaven are singing praises over the salvation of the souls of men and women who are currently in the armed forces or have once served in the armed forces.
We ask that you would send your angels to begin to minister to them even now in the name of Jesus!! That they would look to you as their protector and defender and not to self or what they can do with their weapons. That they would yield themselves and their hearts to you even as they serve physically, trusting and knowing that you are their God, in the name of Jesus!!Photo Credit: pexels.com
