The strength of a woman

Posted by

“What a man can do a woman can do better” is a cliché I particularly don’t totally agree with. The strength of a woman is not comparable with that of a man, all are strong but in different areas and ways.

What then is then is the strength of a woman? To understand this we take a look into the life of one of the leading women in scripture( just to say I have quite a few favorites).

Joshua 2:1, Rehab, she was identified as a prostitute, she was a woman identified as society’s outcast, something caught my attention, and it’s this how was she able to convince both her nuclear and extended family and friends to save them from the holocaust about to hit their nation Jericoh? Another question that bogs me, how was she able to make them keep the secret? How come her neighbours didn’t suspect anything?

Rehab with her profession, prostitutes are among the “lowest” of jobs a woman can do,so they are not regarded in society, what then did Rehab say to them?

I believe it is safe to say that the strength of a woman is not in her musculoskeletal component, it lies in her determination, resilience, the use of her wisdom, her ability to empathise and sympathise, and much more but most importantly her love for people and God.

Joshua 2:1-21, 6:17,22-23. A woman of strength is knowledgeable, kind,is a person of integrity, trustworthy. Your strength as a woman, shows in your dressing, how you relate with people, your reactions and actions in the face of circumstances of life.

A woman of strength is one who fears the Lord. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Proverbs 9:10 KJV Proverbs 31:25-27, 30.
